Whether we like it or not, let’s face it: in a post-strike universe, The Gilded Age is one of the best shows we’ve got. Sure, it’s no Succession, and it can’t hold a candle to The Curse. But whether people are tuning in for the crazy antics of Marnie Fish, Nathan Lane’s gossip queen, or Carrie Coon’s splendid turn as the New Moneyed Mrs. Russell, people are indeed tuning in.

There is, of course, another reason the prestige show is getting so much attention after the second season finale, and that reason’s name is Morgan Shepard. You might have seen the zaddified actor on Homeland way back in the day, or you might know him from his turn on Boardwalk Empire as a member of the Capone mob. But whether you know him or not, I’m willing to bet he’s turned your head on more than one occasion as Carrie Coon’s impossibly gauche and deeply sexy husband George Russell on The Gilded Age.
But would you believe he’s even hotter out of his opera clothes?
