This new series from Elite’s producers just released a (literally) steamy teaser

Olympo is the latest series from the producers of the Spanish teen drama Elite, and not only do we now have a release date, we have a sizzling first trailer to go along with it.

Although the new series may come from the same studio as Elite (and feature at least one of the same actors, Nuno Gallego), Olympo is putting an extra-competitive twist on the familiar formula of troubled kids at an elite high school. According to Netflix, the series will “delve into the sporting, emotional, and life adventures of a group of elite young athletes who will have to test how far they are willing to go to achieve their goals.”

On Tuesday, Netflix unveiled the date announcement trailer. The minute-long teaser may be light on plot (in the best way possible), but it captures the fiercely competitive atmosphere viewers are in for.

In the trailer, a group of sweaty elite athletes lock limbs to form a human pyramid. Even as they struggle to keep the pyramid from collapsing, they are all trying to climb it. Anyway, it’s a feast of sweat-drenched abs, straining muscles, and some light choking for good measure.

For those of you who are planning to watch Olympo for the plot (or at least to tell people that that’s why you watch it), Netflix has you covered with a synopsis.

“At the CAR Pirineos, the best athletes in the country train, such as Amaia, the captain of the national artistic swimming team, a self-demanding girl who does not allow herself to make mistakes,” the official description reads.

“But when Núria, her best friend and teammate, surpasses her for the first time, Amaia realizes that some athletes are improving their performance in inexplicable ways… After years of pushing their bodies to the limit and sacrificing their lives for the sport, they face the dilemma: how far are they willing to go?”

Beyond this, little information about the series has been forthcoming. Last February, the first round of production stills dropped, introducing us to the first season’s gay couple—a pair of muscle-bound rugby players sharing a clandestine embrace in the locker room.

I would like to call your attention to OLYMPO, a new Spanish series coming to Netflix this year that's set at a school for elite athletes
