Trump’s latest attack on incarcerated trans women will cost lives

We’ve survived our first week of Trump’s second term, and we know the worst is yet to come. After declaring war on trans existence last week, it seems Trump is sticking to the Project 2025 agenda by going after the most vulnerable subsection of the trans community itself: incarcerated trans women.

An executive order signed last week promises that trans women must be housed in men’s prisons. He also removed rape protections for trans prisoners from the guidelines of the Prison Rape Elimination Act.

It’s a sick, terrifying act on several levels. Sending trans women to men’s prisons all but guarantees that they will become repeated victims of sexual assault.

“You are your gender regardless of what an executive order says” Dude, I’m not upset because I feel ;w; invalid ;w;. I’m upset because I don’t want to be thrown in jail on trumped up charges for being trans, then get v-coded in a men’s prison. A path I increasingly worry we’re headed down

V-coding is a process whereby queer and trans prisoners—specifically trans women prisoners, more than half of which are women of color—are subjected to horrific sexual assault as “appeasement” to other prisoners.

This is what happens to trans women placed in men's prisons. They are subjected to daily horrific rapes and used as human chattel to pacify aggressive and violent inmates. It's called v coding.

I don't know how truthful this is, I got this from an acquaintance, but this is disgusting and vile. Trans Women, pre or post op, should be put in a women's prison. This makes me sick.

Some women are already fighting the executive order, but they need our help.

All the horrible stuff happening right now is overwhelming, but we have to keep paying attention.

They don't just want Trans women dead, they want us screaming on the way out. #Trump #Transgender #CriminalJustice #Genocide
