This week, yet another right-wing villain has emerged from Congress—which is annoying because we’ve already reached our quota. But since anti-trans ghouls love to enter their villain era (and never leave) we might have seen this coming.

Rep. Nancy Mace—who is trying her darndest to make life in the Capitol a living hell for newly-elected congresswoman Sarah McBride, is taking a tip out of the JK Rowling book by seeming to devote her entire identity to this aim. First she tried to ban McBride from using the correct restroom via a dastardly resolution filing, and now she’s going on a full social media rant about “men in women’s spaces.”
It’s a familiar playbook and we’ve seen it all before, but where exactly have we seen it before? Trans folks have some ideas.

As Alejandra Caraballo dubbed her recently on Bluesky, “Captain Genital Inspector” is relishing the chance to be despicable, and she’s already dressing the part.
“Big Cruella vibes there,” one commenter pointed out. And…well, yes! We can absolutely see it. It’s giving “bring me those puppies!”
“If she doesn’t scare you,” another commenter said, “no evil thing will.”
Another user hit the nail on the head by stating: “The TERF wears Prada.”
Well…the TERF certainly wears knock-off Prada, but that’s another issue entirely. It’s definitely giving villain. It’s giving drowning kittens and puppies. It’s giving Despicable Me: The Revenge of Groot or whatever the hell that movie is called, I refuse to look it up.
The reality is, when you post a video about a made-up problem and the reactions you get are mostly from cis men claiming that their “men’s only spaces” are being violated by women, you’ve basically entered idiot hell. We didn’t even have to put her there—she did it to herself.
And honestly, at least Cruella De Vil has style! We cannot say the same for Mace.
