Connor Franta just gave us a masterclass in dragging the haters

Old YouTuber drama from 10 years ago being dredged up wasn’t on our 2024 bingo cards — but when it’s this entertaining, we’re certainly not complaining.

The drama comes courtesy of a trio of gay influencers: Connor Franta, Joey Graceffa, and Daniel Preda. Graceffa and Preda are ex-boyfriends, and in a video on Graceffa’s channel, the two answered controversial questions about their relationship.

One of those questions, posed to Preda, was, “Who were you the most jealous of during our relationship?” When Preda answered that he was “jealous of a certain YouTuber,” Graceffa encouraged him to name them.

“Connor Franta,” Preda fired back — a fair answer, considering Graceffa and Franta were good friends 10 years ago when Preda and Graceffa were in a relationship. Then, though, Preda may have crossed a line, saying, “But then I realized that he’s the most boring person I’ve ever met.”

“You don’t need to be mean to Mr. Franta,” Graceffa replied.

“I’m not being mean. I’m being honest,” Preda said. “Anyways, that’s beyond. Nobody cares about him anymore.”

Folks across the internet found Preda’s comment unnecessarily harsh, but no need to worry: with his response, Franta proved he’s more than capable of defending himself.

In a TikTok, Franta replied to Preda’s comments. “And legend has it you are still jealous of me, Daniel,” he said. “You’ve been subtweeting me. My name has been in your mouth and on your mind for years. You’re obsessed with me. I don’t know why.”

“I don’t think about you. The internet doesn’t think about you. You are categorized as one thing: Joey Graceffa’s ex-boyfriend,” Franta continued. “Leave me alone. If my crime is being boring, your crime is being nothing.”

Talk about dragging someone for filth. Franta’s reads — particularly that last line — had the internet in his corner, and the nostalgia for the days of 2010s YouTube makes the feud even sweeter. Are you Team Connor or Team Daniel?
