Ellen DeGeneres just released a comedy special on Netflix called For Your Approval where she claims to address allegations made against her for being mean, unpleasant to work with, and a toxic boss. There was even allegations that some people underneath her sexually harassed other employees.
The reviews aren’t pretty. Cracked.com says its “Unapologetic, Unrelatable and Totally Insufferable,” while Vulture says the comedy special “is also a document of something going deeply, bizarrely wrong in the performance of stand-up comedy. DeGeneres’s jokes are often good, but time and again, she performs them in a way that communicates that she’s not looking for laughter — she is looking for praise.”
