The closer we get to November 5, the more desperate Trump supporters seem to become. Not content to embarrass themselves by paying for their X accounts and having usernames like “Shadow of Ezra,” they have to go the extra mile and make up weird, perverse lies about the opposition to make Trump sound like the law and order candidate.
But this time, they might have gone too far.

In a tweet from yesterday that’s quickly gotten picked up by far-right social channels, certain far-fetched allegations about Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz have started to make the rounds. These allegations—propagated by a MAGA tweeter who goes by the screen name Black Insurrectionist—try to make Walz out as a closeted p*dophile and predator. But there are more than a few problems with the story that’s being told on far right Twitter.

According to the original poster, he was sent an anonymous email detailing the scandal and fact-checked it by calling the sender on the phone to verify the story. But since Black Insurrectionist has a history of circulating false stories online—including a September story about the Trump/Harris debate being verifiably biased in favor of Harris—Twitter users soon put two and two together.
As the community note now states, the email is clearly a fabrication. But that didn’t stop other far-right channels from spreading the false Tim Walz gossip far and wide. Now we’re seeing even more unhinged posts about how Walz is a predator and how Indigo Girls’ concerts are *checks notes* a “breading ground” for p*dophiles.
All it really tells us is that Trump and his team are getting desperate. They’re going to continue making up stories to discredit Harris and Walz: the thing we need to remember is that these lies are a distraction, plain and simple. We can let them do what they’re intended to do—draw focus from the actual issues—or we can ignore them for the detritus they are.
