Lara Trump is stepping down from the RNC for this potentially sinister reason

Aspiring singer Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump, is apparently stepping down from her position as co-chair of the Republican National Committee—possibly to run for the United States Senate, according to the New York Times.

She announced her leave on X this morning, stating: “Serving as the @GOP co-chair throughout the course of the most consequential election in American history has truly been the honor of my life” before outlying party goals to pass fundraising records, build an “army of lawyers and poll watchers to ensure election integrity,” and to increase voter turnout.

“The job I came to do is now complete and I intend to formally step down from the RNC at our next meeting,” she said. “Thank you to our incredible team at the RNC, our amazing @ChairmanWhatley, and, of course, thank you to President @realDonaldTrump — we are so proud of you and I’m grateful you trusted me in this position.”

In the same tweet, she manages to misspell “propensity” and claims to have built an “army of lawyers and poll watchers,” which doesn’t sound apocalyptic at all!

She’s been lobbied by many Republicans to run in Florida, filling a potential vacancy that may be left by Senator Marco Rubio. Rubio has been picked by Trump to serve as Secretary of State, which would leave an open vacancy that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis could choose to fill.

She said of this position in an interview with The Associated Press, “It is something I would seriously consider. If I’m being completely transparent, I don’t know exactly what that would look like.”
