Alex Armstrong, the gay host of British far-right news station GB News, went on a queerphobic rant against Pride Month on a debate segment titled “Do we need Pride Month?”
Armstrong threw a homophobic insult at queer celebrators of Pride Month in his rant. “What I see when I see some of those Pride events is fetishes being displayed on the street, men running naked around, thinking that’s acceptable when there are children walking around,” he said, referencing a common right-wing talking point that is based in myth rather than reality.

Currently, no family friendly Pride event involves sexual content, with that relegated strictly to 18+ events. These claims are popularized by members of the far-right who seek to demonize the LGBTQ+ community.

It stereotypes them, and there’ll be millions of gay men, thousands of them watching tonight, who’ll go: ‘Actually, I don’t want that representing us,’” he said before saying that modern queerphobia is because of “far-left institutions” that pushed “the agenda” too far.
He then argued against gender affirming care for trans youth, and argued that gay people should be “assimilated” into society. On Instagram, he ranted about “far-left activist LGBT groups” and their “degenerate ideology.”
