Netflix Employees Stage Mass Walkout to Protest Chappelle Special

Today at 10:30am Pacific, queer and trans Netflix employees are walking out in protest of the streaming platform CEO’s remarks surrounding Dave Chappelle’s transphobic new special, “The Closer.” Terra Field, the employee who spoke out against the special and was placed on a brief suspension, perhaps put it best:

The queer-run Netflix “Most” account joined in:

“Work in Progress” and “The Matrix” creator Lilly Wachowski spoke out in support of the walk out:

And the one and only Billy Eichner lent his support:

Elliot Page voiced his support for the cause, linking a video made by Preston featuring words of support from trans stars and allies such as Angelica Ross, Colton Haynes, Peppermint, Our Lady J, and the legendary Kate Bornstein. 

Queer “Grey’s Anatomy” star Sara Ramirez spoke up:
