All other colors have officially been declared irrelevant!
The Pantone Color Institute, which is a thing, has named the new color of the year, which is a thing the Pantone Color Institute does. The color of the year for 2018 will be “Ultra Violet,” the Associated Press reports, a color chosen “to evoke a counterculture flair, a grab for originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking.”
“We are living in complex times,” Pantone Vice President Laurie Pressman told the AP. “We’re seeing the fear of going forward and how people are reacting to that fear.”
The color good is, right?
So in celebration, here’s an ultra violet-inspired mood board to help you make sense of all that fearsome complexity that lies ahead.
