In the past few weeks we’ve all been watching the straight community lose their total minds over Euphoria and White Lotus star Sydney Sweeney. The passion these people have for ogling Sweeney is truly gross to behold, and unfortunately, it shows no signs of stopping. Because if there’s one thing straight people love, it’s being shockingly weird and inappropriate about women’s bodies.
But guess what: things are about to get even weirder. Over the weekend, Sweeney showed up at the GLAAD Awards with her Anyone But You costar Alexandra Shipp, who captioned an Instagram post from the event “date night wit the babe @sydneysweeney.”

Shipp, an out-queer actress whose turns in Love, Simon and Barbie have gained her a spot among the top up-and-coming celebrities of the decade, recently walked down the aisle with Hadley Robinson in Anyone But You, and the experience seems to have brought Shipp and Sweeney closer than ever.

How would a TikTok ban affect queer creators?
“TikTok has been able to help us find each other. Losing TikTok would remove us from that social fabric.”
Presenting the award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Shipp and Sweeney absolutely gagged the girls with their couture. And it didn’t escape anyone’s notice that the two were tenderly holding hands on the way up to the stage.
Hard launch, anyone?
Listen…if meeting Oprah isn’t on the docket, is it even a lesbian date?
As of yet, we don’t know how Sweeney identifies, and judging from just how weird everyone’s being, it makes sense that the rising star is keeping her private life private. And when Shipp was spotted last year with her bestie, Transparent and Easy actress Kiersey Clemons, she was quick to deny dating rumors—though she did note that she would be “lucky” to be dating a woman like Clemons.
So what’s the deal with these two? Only time will tell.
I know Sydney Sweeney is straight but can we imagine 🥺
