Few friendships are worthy of the onscreen treatment quite like Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. The Drag Race season seven alums have provided some witty commentary on our favorite topics, via their YouTube show, UNHhhh, and the subsequent Viceland adaptation, The Trixie & Katya Show. But it was recently announced that Katya would be taking a break from drag to focus on mental health and sobriety.

While we applaud Katya’s openness and wish her all the best during her break, that leaves a seat open on The Trixie & Katya Show. Luckily for us, Viceland has provided one of our favorite queens to temporarily fill the spot. For the remaining five episodes of the first season, Drag Race Season 8 winner Bob the Drag Queen will join Trixie.

“I am so excited to be guesting on The Trixie & Katya Show,” Bob said in a statement. “I’m neither Trixie or Katya, but it is Black History Month so”

With Bob’s unforgettable track record as a comedy queen and activist, this should be a great addition to the show. She’s had experience hosting her own talk show with the YouTube series, Bobbin’ Around with her assistant Luis. Her first episode of The Trixie & Katya Show will air Wednesday, February 28 at 10:30PM.

“Everyone continues to support Brian on his path to getting healthy,” said Viceland Executive Producer and SVP Development, Nomi Ernst Leidner, “While we will miss Katya dearly, we are very excited to offer fans more episodes of The Trixie & Katya Show with another powerhouse from the Drag Race roster.”

Trixie can currently be seen competing for the crown on Season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars.
