Brazilian Drag Pop Star Pabllo Vittar Shares Her Life On ‘Up Next’

· Updated on May 28, 2018

Pabllo Vittar has made a name as one of Brazil’s biggest pop stars. Also one of the country’s most famous drag queens, she came from a small town in northern Brazil with dreams of becoming a singer.

In recent years, Vittar has seen her dream come true, putting out some notable tracks while bringing drag into the mainstream. In 2015, she did a Portuguese rendition of Major Lazer’s “Lean On,” and since then has gone on to release a series of viral videos for her debut LP, Vai Passar Mal, as well as being featured on Major Lazer’s chart-topping “Sua Cara.” Fans have also long followed her YouTube seriesVlog Da Pabllo.

But for those craving a deeper look into the pop star’s life, Apple Music has something in store. Vittar is the new subject of Up Next, a mini-doc series that has also featured Billie Eilish, Sigrid, and Sabrina Claudio.

In Vittar’s Up Next, she opens up about her steady ascent to fame and how she hopes to impact the culture of Brazil, a country with the highest LGBTQ murder rate in the world.

“Brazil is not just about soccer and samba and jungle,” she says. “Brazil is about many colors, many rhythms that are played here every day for the people.”

The mini-doc is accompanied by an acoustic set. Both are now available on Apple Music.
