A pixie cut is a joy forever, its loveliness increases. Or does it? Well, it’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all kind of deal. While many a prestigious actress has decided to channel her inner Jean Seberg on the red carpet, the time-honored look can easily backfire. Poot Lovato, anyone?
RelatedClearly, SZA loves drag — could we see her as a judge on a future season of “Drag Race”?
Not so for Emma Stone, who debut a close-cropped cut on the Golden Globes red carpet last night and looked totally fantastic. But she also looked strangely familiar to the gays. Is it possible that the woman who produced the iconic egg-cracking masterpiece I Saw the TV Glow is trying to tell us something?
Culture, unfiltered
Our newsletter will bring you the pulse of queer culture, from the tastemakers to the groundbreakers.
I mean…probably not. As other commenters explained, Stone had to shave her head for her performance in a recent Yorgos Lanthimos film, so the Occam’s Razor explanation is probably the true one. But can we help noticing that this is decidedly a lewk?
Huge if true…but then again, could we be completely missing the mark? Yes.
Emma’s husband better have those papers ready because it’s giving Nicole Kidman in Birth. It’s giving Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby. It’s giving Plane Jane’s burger finger wig. This is not a rehearsal, people! Though to be fair, it might be The Rehearsal with Nathan Fielder (season 2.)
Whatever this haircut portends, we love and support it. Divorce, a new pronoun announcement, a brand endorsement deal—we’ll take it!
