Fans Keep Asking Armie Hammer To Sign Their Peaches

Armie Hammer has moved on from playing a gay man in film to playing a straight man on Broadway, quite the 180. Hammer stars in a play aptly called Straight White Men, but apparently, his Call Me By Your Name role is still bringing in fans.

On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hammer spoke about his CMBYN fans coming to see his new show. At the stage door, the place outside the theater where fans often wait to meet the cast of the show, fans have apparently been giving Hammer peaches.

“The first time someone ever handed me a peach, I was like, ‘Oh, thanks.’ And they go, ‘No, no that’s not for you, will you sign it for me?'” Hammer recounted. “I was like, ‘You want me to sign a peach?, they’re like, ‘Yeah!’ And I’ve got a Sharpie in my hand and I said OK. I sign it and as I hand it back I go, ‘You’re not going to eat that, are you? I mean there’s Sharpie on it.’ And they go, ‘No!'”

Hammer implies that fans will probably put their peaches on some shelves and let them rot, but there is something else they could do that would be…more fitting.
