At the Democratic National Convention last night, Kamala Harris’ step daughter, Ella Emhoff, was seen wearing a camo hat advertising the Harris-Walz campaign. She also was wearing a sleeveless dress that showed off a bunch of her tattoos.
And the Internet is freaking out. Some of it in a good way!
“threw the first brick at myrtle broadway,” someone said, in reference to questions over who threw the first brick at the 1969 Stonewall Riots. (Hint – she was a Black trans woman!)
The hat was already sold out by the Harris-Walz campaign within 30 minutes of it being put out. It allegedly raised over $2 million, being marketed as “the most iconic political hat in America,” a clear dig to the infamous red MAGA hat.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
RelatedThe knitwear icon and palate-cleanser we desperately need.
Much like Ice Spice, Emhoff is winning hearts and minds across the nation.
“She’s cooking with that camo campaign hat”
A random conservative claimed that Emhoff looked like she was going to “assassinate a former President,” to which someone responded, “Assassinate a lavender latte maybe.”
The tats aren’t going unnoticed, either.
We love a relaxed queen…
We can’t wait for Ella to bring even more exciting knitwear/Bushwick-inspired fashion choices to the White House.
