Trump is flabbergasting the world with his latest move of naming Richard Grenell, a gay 2020 election denial conspiracy theorist, to the position of presidential envoy for “special missions,” a role that was made just for him. The former US ambassador to Germany has been a fierce ally to the convicted felon.
Trump said on Truth Social, “Ric will work in some of the hottest spots around the World, including Venezuela and North Korea,” Trump wrote, additionally saying he’d “continue to fight for Peace through Strength, and always put AMERICA FIRST.”

Many speculate that this is because Grenell was passed over for the position of Secretary of State, with plans having been in place to post favorable content about him online. Grenell said this scheme was “unserious gossip.”

Grenell said on X, “Working on behalf of the American people for @realDonaldTrump is an honor of a lifetime. President Trump is a problem solver who keeps Americans safe and prosperous. We have so much to do. Let’s get to work.”
He then retweeted dozens of congratulatory statements from Republicans in the government.
