In an effort to combat transphobia in our current political landscape, queer fantasy author Coyote JM Edwards, is partnering with 4 other LGBTQ+ fantasy authors to offer a collection of 7 ebooks for free to those who contact their local representatives requesting their support in the fight for trans rights.
The books include How to Get a Girlfriend (When You’re a Terrifying Monster) by Marie Cardno, a sapphic romance novel about a Lovecraftian being who falls in love with a human witch.
Related“Movies definitely mediate how I picture and write violence, but what I’m always chasing when I watch violent movies is catharsis for the feeling of the violence I’ve experienced in life.”
Chai and Cat-tales: Priye by Lynn Strong, is one of three novellas in an anthology about Catsprowl, a neighborhood that is brimming with cats, chai cafes, bookstores, bathhouses, and mischief. Priye follows the story of a small alley-kitten named Priye and the humans who adopted her. The author adds “For the neurospicy folks who struggle with the words people expect, this one is for you. For the disabled folks and those who need to hear that your value isn’t in your work output, this one is for you too.”

The Thread That Binds by Cedar McCloud is a sapphic workplace romance novel about three librarians working at a magical library (naturally) and competing against one another to become the next Head Librarian.
There are also two books from asexual and aromantic-spectrum writer Claudie Arsenault. Awakenings is a fantasy novel about a rag-tag group of adventures on a journey of self-discovery filled with danger and excitement. Arsenault’s 2nd book Baker Thief (originally City of Strife), The story is about Adèle and her mission to catch the thief who broke into her home and stole something of value from her. Little does she know the thief is also the local baker
Arseneault states “Baker Thief is the first in a fantasy series meant to reframe romance tropes within non-romantic relationship and centering aromantic characters. Those who love enemies-to-lovers and superheroes should enjoy the story!”
Two of Coyote JM Edwards’ books are in this collection as well. Coffee, Milk, & Spider Silk is about a Drider who opens a cafe, and Lolipop Monster Shop is a workplace fantasy novel about a pink Slime tasked with reviving a failing candy shop after becoming its new owner
This collection will be available until February 28th. To receive this collection, you must send an email to one or more U.S. representatives from your state telling them why they should support trans rights, and to CC the email address [email protected] to which she will reply with the files for the book bundle.
If you’re not sure what to write, Edwards provides a template on her website.
