Even in the wake of one of the most devastating election results in history, life marches on, including Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Tour. But even celebrities like Carpenter know that Donald Trump’s presidential victory is impossible to ignore, and she proved it at her latest concert in Seattle, her first show following Trump’s win.
“For everybody in here to come here to escape, I hope we can be a moment of peace for you and a moment of safety,” Carpenter said in a speech during the concert. “Sorry about our country.”
“To the women in here, I love you so so so so so much,” Carpenter continued. “I really hope for the rest of this night that you can enjoy yourselves because you absolutely deserve it, but we just love you, so thank you for being here tonight.”

Related“If you are transgender, you have to live. It is the greatest form of protest we will ever have.”“Lmao I lied,” wrote the endlessly confusing rapper the morning after the election.
The speech comes just days after Carpenter’s political impact was revealed: In 2024, she worked with voting advocacy organization HeadCount to register 35,814 new voters through her concerts and sweepstakes, along with engaging an additional 263,087 voters. HeadCount shared that Carpenter reached the most voters of any of their artist partners during the year.
Carpenter also shared that news to her Instagram story on election day, adding, “and if we missed you it’s not too late to vote today!!” Though Carpenter never officially endorsed Kamala Harris, her apologetic concert speech shows where she stands on the election, and her fans are proud of her for trying, no matter the outcome.
