We’re still collectively mourning the tragedy that is the Republican majority in the House and the Senate—but let’s not forget there are still some bright points. While the Democrats aren’t a congressional majority, they’re still holding strong against the forces of evil, which, in light of the chaos promised by the next four years, is no easy feat. In addition to strong advocates like Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and the newly-elected Sarah McBride, Representative Jasmine Crockett was reelected to represent South Dallas in the House, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
RelatedTexas representative Jasmine Crockett can do more than craft reads like “bleach blonde bad-built butch body.” She can win reelection, too.
In addition to completely gathering Marjorie Taylor Greene in last year’s epic “bleach blonde bad built butch body” throwdown, Crockett has been an outspoken champion of LGBTQ+ rights in her home state of Texas and beyond.
And with the incoming administration nominating the most dubious clowns imaginable, we’re going to need Crockett’s allyship more than ever. Luckily, she’s already stepping up to bat for us.

When that man nominated alleged predator Matt Gaetz for the role of attorney general, it wasn’t long before people with good sense started asking the right questions. As in: really? That guy?
It’s bad enough that Gaetz is an anti-gay ghoul, he’s also at the center of a number of accusations about having inappropriate relations with minors. So when yesterday’s news broke regarding an obvious ploy to keep Sarah McBride, the first trans woman elected to Congress, from using the correctly gendered bathrooms in that space, we could all smell the hypocrisy.
But Jasmine Crockett put it perfectly into perspective with one single sentence.
Rep Jasmine Crockett bringing the fire.

Period! Anyone with eyes to see knows that Nancy Mace’s transphobic bill isn’t about women’s protection: if Republicans cared about that, they wouldn’t have spent the entire election cycle spreading lies about “parital birth” abortions and trans predators. And they certainly wouldn’t have anything to do with Matt Gaetz, whose presence in congress is an insult to women everywhere.
