Actor Kevin Spacey won’t be on screen for a while.
According to a statement to E! News from his rep, Spacey “is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment.”
News of Spacey’s acting hiatus comes only a few days after actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making unwanted sexual advances on him when he was 14 years old. According to Rapp, Spacey invited him to a party and, when everyone left, laid on top of him while drunk.
Earlier this week, Netflix announced that Netflix halted production of Spacey’s White House-based drama House of Cards. Its upcoming season, Netflix announced, will be its last.
Since Rapp’s initial allegations, at least two more men have come forward and accused Spacey of unwanted harassment. Rapp’s initial allegations led to Spacey coming out as gay to the public on his Twitter account.
