Vermont Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is touring the US, holding rallies as part of an attempt to fight against the oligarchical takeover of this country. He’s taking the stage to criticize billionaires like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos and the unconstitutional actions of the Trump administration, and he’s being punk as f*ck while doing it.
Amongst the uplifting speeches inspiring the crowds to continue fighting for our country’s freedom and civil liberties were live music performances by musicians and bands wishing to fight for the cause. One of those artists was none other than Laura Jane Grace from the punk band Against Me!
Coming from a transgender punk rock-loving leftist, this event sounds f*cking awesome.

For those who aren’t aware, Laura Jane Grace is the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the punk rock band Against Me! She is trans, the author of the 2016 memoir Tr*nny, and is considered one of the most well-known transgender musicians in punk rock.
Jane Grace’s music often explores aspects of transness, her anarchist political beliefs, and her anti-hate stance on racism, homophobia, and sexism. Her music is very crass and political; for that reason, you can imagine how the right-wing media reacted upon discovering her from these rallies.
Because Bernie Sanders is a beloved figure in leftist politics who lives rent-free in the heads of a lot of angry conservatives, this event was highly looked at by the media, and it seems like Laura Jane Grace made quite the impression.
Various right-wing news sources are calling her performance bashing religion “Pure Evil” and trying to paint her as the literal devil. It comes as no surprise that right-wing media would try to target her as she is very open about being trans, and just us existing pisses them off for some reason… kind of transphobic IMO!
For a group of people who complain about minorities “whining” about how they are oppressed by years of systemic issues, they have no problem performing victimhood when someone says anything negative about Christianity. Not to mention the number of times these people have called transgender people p*dophiles when it’s an entire meme that there are more youth pastors on the SO registry than there are letters in the Bible.
In their attempt to make Laura Jane Grace look bad, they’ve only managed to make her appear way more badass. Like hell yeah, she’s evil and trans. A winning combination! The fact that Fox News is saying this like it’s a bad thing fully lives up to the joke of Fox being the news channel your grandfather watches.
Whatever, boomer, you’re just not with it.
