Lena Waithe And Chelsea Manning Lead The 2017 Out100

We have three words for this year’s OUT100: whole buncha faves!

Outannouncedits selections for this year’s OUT100, the magazine’s annual effort to honor LGBTQ people in the public eye, on Wednesday.

Top honors went to Emmy-winning screenwriter Lena Waithe, Out’s Artist of the Year; freed whistleblower Chelsea Manning, their Newsmaker of the Year; Hood by Air visionary and Helmut Lang guest designer Shayne Oliver, their Stylemaker of the Year; and Tony-nominated Mindhunter star and Looking alum Jonathan Groff, their Entertainer of the Year.

Waithe, Manning, Oliver, and Groff each got their own OUT100 cover, as well. Out named tennis icon Billie Jean King, whom Emma Stone portrays onscreen in this year’s Battle of the Sexes, their Lifetime Achievement Honoree, but she did not receive a cover.

Among the rest of the OUT100 honorees are journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, Transparent creator Jill Soloway, Emmy-nominated Handmaid’s Tale star Samira Wiley, HuffPost editor-in-chief Lydia Polgreen, motherfucking John Waters, and more.
