Michael Cimino beefs up for new teen street racing drama

If you didn’t love Victor before, you’re about to swoon. Love, Victor star Michael Cimino’s street-racing drama Motorheads has just dropped on Prime Video, and the gays are racing to the internet to marvel the actor’s muscular glow up.

In Motorheads, Cimino stars as Zac, a teenager who has reluctantly moved to the Rust Belt from New York City with his mother Samantha (Nathalie Kelley) and twin sister Caitlyn (Melissa Collazo). Shortly after relocating to the town of Ironwood, Zac reunites with his uncle Logan Maddox (Ryan Phillippe), a former NASCAR racer and current body shop owner.

While trying to out-race a jerk at his new school, Zac discovers the car that belonged to his late father. As he bonds with Logan by fixing up the car, he begins to discover family secrets that might be better off left in the rearview mirror.

In an interview with LA Times, Cimino gushed about just how long he’s been waiting for a role like this. “Literally, since I first signed with CAA [Creative Artists Agency],” he said. “I was like, ‘You guys, I would love to do a project that combines my passion for cars and film and TV.’ Then I came across this script and I was like, ‘This is the one.’ I just knew it. Not in a cocky way. I just knew this is my role. Like, this is for me.”

Cimino’s been waiting long enough that he’s gone from teen heartthrob to rugged adult man, and the internet has taken note.

Although his character is straight this time around, there’s still something of the outsider in Zac. “I think Zac always felt like an outsider,” Cimino said. “When he comes to Ironwood and kind of discovers his passion for racing, it’s like a light in his life. Finally, he’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can be good at something. I can amount to something.’”

“This show is just such a spectacle,” Cimino added. “Even if I wasn’t involved in this project, I would still be a huge fan of it. It’s so well done. The stunts are amazing. It was honestly really freaking cool just witnessing something that I would have loved to watch when I was a kid. Being a part of it is so insane. It really feels like one of the most surreal moments of my life. To be honest, it feels like, ‘Wow, my dreams really did come true.’”

All ten episodes of Motorheads are currently available to stream on Prime Video.
