New Pop Star Madison Rose Unveils Debut Video, Cites Drag as Inspiration

· Updated on May 27, 2018

There is a new star on the rise and her name is Madison Rose. She just released her debut single, “Diamonds” with an accompanying music video, both of which are stunning. In an interview with Billboard, Rose said that some of the inspiration for her video came from drag culture.

“When putting an outfit together I look to the queens,” she told Billboard. “Drag queens don’t pull looksthey pull concepts. So, I need my looks to have a theme.”

This inspiration is definitely evident in her video because her looks are bright, colorful and could definitely be seen on the runway of Drag Race. I’m especially into the neon green outfit with the transparent vinyl trench and the fluffy moment during the second half of the video.

Rose also tweeted about how happy she was that the release of the song was during Pride because members of the LGBT community have welcomed her when she felt like an outsider.

If you all are as invested in these looks as I am (seriously, I can’t stop looking at them) then hop over to her Instagram because she’s laid them all out for you to gawk at. It’s all worth noting her caption of one of those posts, “I may have written this song as a woman speaking to menbut fuck the pronouns. They are placeholders that you can and should switch out for whatever your heart needs. This song is for you.”

While you’re there, be sure to give her some love because I can guarantee we’ll see more of her soon.
