NLE Choppa is in the hot seat, and it’s for queer-baiting yet again!
The rapper recently underwent a rebranding last year after making waves with his viral songs, Or What and Slut Me Out 2, which were more than accepted by the LGBTQ+ community. Choppa even released a music video for his song Go with gay influencer Relly B showing up in a cameo.
While all this is progressive, especially in a genre where a certain kind of toxic masculine image often shows up, there’s just one issue— LGBTQ+ fans wonder if Choppa’s latest work is just another performative stunt.

To add to the confusion, Playgirl magazine unveiled NLE Choppa photos for its January 2025 issue, and it’s interesting to see. One image show Choppa clad in black lacy underwear and thigh highs as he poses semi-provocatively, and the Internet responded with questions. There’s nothing wrong with what he wore, but it’s not his usual M.O. to do photoshoots of this nature, and it doesn’t feel authentic to his brand.
However, Choppa has come to the forefront and spoke out against the allegations, “I am not a gay baiter because I post a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am. I am not a gay baiter if I post a picture showing off how much God has blessed me from below the waist with something that got women going crazy. I am not a gay baiter because in my Playgirl shoot I showed a piece of my a**. I can’t show a piece of my own a** without being called a name? It’s my a**! I am not a gay baiter because I showed my a** to a lady photographer,” he said according to VIBE.
Whether he is or isn’t queer-baiting, Choppa has stated multiple times that he’s comfortable with who he is and that he has respect for the queer community despite not being a member.
