· Updated on May 28, 2018

To moviegoers around the world, Harvey Weinstein is known for producing such titles as Pulp Fiction, Chicago, and Good Will Hunting. To those in Hollywood, he’s apparently also known as a predator. This inside secret came out recently, as a number of his victims have recently come forward.

Last week, The New York Times published a revealing exposé that brought to light numerous cases of sexual assault against Weinstein. For decades, he’s been paying off accusers for their silence. He’s reached at least eight settlements with women in exchange for anonymity.

“I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it,” Weinstein told the NY Times. “Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.”

He’s currently taking a leave of absence and working with some therapists about the issue.

But just as with Bill Cosby and Donald Trump, many of the film producer’s victims are coming out of the shadows to speak up about the toxic Hollywood rape culture he’s perpetuated. Although he’s denied many of the claims, his accusers are still stepping forward.
