Rose McGowan may have tweeted and deleted, but before the post went down, she had some strong words for Meryl Streep and other actresses who, according to People, will wear black at the Golden Globes to protest sexual harassment in Hollywood.
“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest,” McGowan on Saturdayand then deleted. “YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa.”
For those who don’t know, Marchesa is a fashion brand founded by Harvey Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman. Chapman announced in October that she is splitting from Weinstein.
Streep is not the only actress who McGowan has chastised recently. Earlier in December, McGowan lashed out at Charmed colleague Alyssa Milano for supporting Chapman during her divorce, saying, “You make me want to vomit.”
