Gentlemen, start your engines: We’re one week away from finding out which legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race queens will get another shot at the crown.
In a new twist, RuPaul will announce the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 in a televised special, to air next Friday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. Eastern on VH1. The queens chosen will compete in the new season, set to premiere in early 2018.
“Millions of fans have their favorite queens that they think should be on All Stars 3,” RuPaul said in a statement. “But the final decision is mine to make. Prepare to be gagged.”
All Stars 2 was a smash success for the show, both commercially and artistically. Rather than wait four years between All Stars cycles, as the show did between seasons one and two, All Stars 3 will drop less than a year and a half after the previous season.
Which queens will get the chance to compete to join Alaska and Chad Michaels in the Drag Race Hall of Fame? We’ll find out Friday night. In the meantime, watch the tease for the special below.
