Soooo, Gina Rodriguez Might Be Playing Stephanie Beatriz’s Girlfriend On ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’?

Entertainment Weekly reports that the actress and Golden Globe Award-winning star of the CW’s Jane the Virgin will appear on future episodes of Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine in a guest-starring role.

Nothing else is known about Rodriguez’s character, but EW is convinced that she will play a love interest for detective Rosa Diazand they make a strong case!

For one, Brooklyn Nine-Nine executive producer Dan Goor has said in past interviews that he wants to introduce a girlfriend character for Rosa.

Plus, Stephanie Beatriz, the actress who plays Rosa, has said that she’d love to have Rodriguez play said hypothetical girlfriendand Gina’s totally down.

Aaaaaand, lest we forget, series star Terry Crews recently posted an on-set selfie with Beatriz and Rodriguez to Instagram. He later deleted that post, but you can still see it right here on EW’s website.

In case you’re not a regular Brooklyn Nine-Nine viewer (hi), detective Rosa Diaz came out as bisexual during an episode last December. (Stephanie Beatriz, the actress who plays Rosa, is also bisexual.) Rosa isn’t the only LGBTQ character on the Fox series. Captain Ray Holt, portrayed by Andre Braugher, is gay, too.
