There’s no question about it: Lady Gaga’s Mayhem is the one unqualified miracle we’re likely to get this year. While the world is crashing, burning, and promoting soulless AI “art” all around us, the gays are getting sustenance from Mother Monster’s best offering in over a decade. Mayhem came not a moment too soon for a community under duress, and it’s putting us in mind of so many other life-saving hits Gaga was able to usher our way even in the pre-Prop 8 days.

“Starstruck” was made in the Red One/Space Cowboy/Cherry Cherry Boom Boom days, and sounds like it. It’s silly, poppy, nostalgic, and still weirdly holds up, as Lady Gaga hits tend to do. And on TikTok, people are using it to remember a simpler time.
To be fair, “Starstruck” has been having a moment for awhile now. Back in 2023, Spice, of drag sibling duo Sugar and Spice, did an insane take on it, complete with robot dog.
Basically it’s never the wrong time to bust out “Starstruck.” It reminds of just how long Gaga has been serving, and how she was there from the very start. Cherry cherry boom boom, friends. Cherry cherry boom boom.
