During this entire election cycle, we’ve had to contend with the fact that the Republican presidential nominee—in addition to being the worst person on Earth—might be missing more than a few of his marbles. On every stop of the campaign trail, Trump has made it a priority to go completely off script, if a script ever existed to begin with. He’s rambled about bacon and windmills, he’s spent 40 minutes of a rally slow dancing to Sinéad O’Connor and the Village people, and this weekend, he appeared to give his microphone a hand job in front of cheering followers.
No one knows quite what to say. Is there anything to say? It’s the day before the election, and if there are still swing voters out there, hopefully they know that these are not the actions of a politician, or indeed a sane person.

Obviously sanity is subjective, and poor mental health is no laughing matter. But we’re talking about Trump here! The man is not ok on just about any level. Several queer TikTokers watched in shock as Trump’s now-infamous gesture at a Milwaukee rally spread across the app. Lord knows it doesn’t take much to shock the gays, but this is indeed shocking. “Y’all want this??? for president???” TikToker Josh Helfgott captioned his reaction video to the event.

“I have been around long enough to see them, as members of the public, come and give public comments that are unhinged and often irrational.”
“Mr. trump you are aware Kamala will protect your LGBTQ rights,” one commenter cheekily noted.
“You guys this can’t be our life,” another wrote.
It is indeed hard to believe that we haven’t slipped into some sordid new timeline where we’re forced to play out scrapped episode ideas for Veep. But yes, somehow this is real life. We live in a world where a man who just deep throated a microphone is frighteningly close in the polls with a real politician.
Hopefully this fresh embarrassment does some damage with prospective Trump voters, but at this point, who knows.
