Walmart moves to pull trans merch, Pride funding in massive DEI purge

In a depressing but completely expected move, Walmart has started the process of abandoning their DEI efforts of the past few years in an effort to “represent all of America,” per CNN Business.

This move will include removing “sexual and transgender products marketed to children,” whatever that means. Personally I’ve never heard of a transgender product marketed to children, but go off, Walmart.

Walmart will now be purging it's online stores if anything trans related because they equate it as sexual and harmful to children. What the actual fuck.

As discovered by Alejandra Caraballo, all evidence of products containing the word “transgender” have been scrubbed from the Walmart’s US site, though some entries for “trans pride merch” can still be found online.

Walmart has seemingly censored the search term on their site for the word transgender. However, a search for trans pride brings up a bunch of products.

The company is also planning to review its Pride funding and pull its $100 million donation to the Center for Racial Equity, a commitment they made to the foundation in 2020.

“We’ve been on a journey and know we aren’t perfect,” Walmart explained in a recent statement, “but every decision comes from a place of wanting to foster a sense of belonging.”

You’ll note the extremely interesting definition of “belonging” to seemingly include only white, straight people. Again, it’s not exactly surprising given the recent turn of events, but it is depressing considering Walmart represents one of the largest employers in the country, with people of color representing over half its employees as of this year.
