Beyoncé fans are convinced that pop rock group Paramore are showing up on Act III. Here’s why.
It’s not a secret that Paramore’s lead singer, Hayley Williams, is a big music fan. While that seems to be a given for an artist acclaimed as her, she’s just like us, listening to all of these music heavy hitters on rotation. And with this latest reveal, many within the BeyHive think she’s going to be collaborating with the Queen Bey herself.
Paramore were ambassadors for Record Store Day, an event used to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store.” Williams took to Instagram to highlight her adventures over the weekend and she shared the albums that she’s obsessed with. From Brittany Howard’s What Not to touring mate Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, Williams’ gushed over her favorite records on her Instagram Stories.
Culture, unfiltered
Twice a week, our newsletter will bring you the pulse of queer culture, from the tastemakers to the groundbreakers.
But (desert) eagle-eyed fans did a double take on her post about Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. Williams posted that she cries “at the same part of ‘American Requiiem,’ every time” and that she feels “southern pride that exists – subversively – amongst hatred and fear.” In other words, she was in her feels like the rest of us from Queen Bey’s country record.
RelatedBeyoncé is known for dropping clues from her upcoming music eras and the BeyHive thinks they’ve confirmed Act III from this speech.
Since Beyoncé’s viral photoshoot for the cover of CR Fashion Book and her acceptance speech at the iHeartRadio Awards, fans believe that Act III will be rock focused. Renaissance, aka Act I, centered around house and dance music. Act II’s Cowboy Carter is all about country.
And if fans are correct, Beyoncé will be trading in her bolo tie for a spiked choker for Act III. The BeyHive has already speculated/wished hopefully that acts like Lenny Kravitz, the White Stripes’ Jack White (a previous collaborator), and Paramore will be on the next album. So when Williams raved about Cowboy Carter, many fans felt like this was Williams’ way of making herself available for Act III recording sessions.
We’ll see what surprises Beyoncé has up her fringed sleeve. Until then, we’re all keeping our (leather-gloved) fingers crossed for a Paramore collab.
