Wow, Pink Makes Monogamy Sound Terrifying

· Updated on May 28, 2018

On songs like “So What,” Pink has turned the pitfalls of true love into pop gold. Now, in an interview with the Guardian before the release of her seventh album, Beautiful Trauma, the singer opened up further about the rocky road that is monogamous marriage with her husband, Carey Hart.

“There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant he’s like a rock,” the singer said. “He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some. And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the shit you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again. Then two weeks later I’m like, things are going so good, you guys. Then you’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year. Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me?”

Wow, nothing has ever made me grab for my copy of Ethical Slut faster!

She continued, after a breath, “Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again.”

Pink and Hart have been together since 2002, broke up briefly and reunited while filming the video for her song, “So What!,” which chronicled their break-up.

Beautiful Trauma is available to stream and purchase today.
