It’s that time of year again: Marvel is dropping the covers for its annual Pride Month comic, and a certain iconic couple is back, back, back again.
In 2024, characters Hercules and Iceman caught the gays’ attention for their pose on one of the Pride variant covers: The hulking, hairy Hercules stood with his arm around the smaller, smirking Iceman (whose arched back immediately raised queer eyebrows).

Now, in 2025, the two are getting even cozier on the cover of Marvel United: A Pride Special, which goes on sale on June 4. This time, Iceman is riding on Hercules’ back, smiling wide while wrapping his arms and legs around the Olympian from behind. Fans can’t help but wonder if after seeing them cuddled up two years in a row, the two will finally become a canon couple in the comics.
It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for either character to enter a queer relationship. Both characters have been portrayed as queer in previous comics: Iceman is gay, while Hercules was once in a relationship with famous X-Man Wolverine (albeit in an alternate timeline, but still — the potential is there!) Whether Marvel United: A Pride Special will finally make it official remains to be seen. Fingers crossed!

Meanwhile, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting queerer and queerer, too. That’s thanks in no small part to Heartstopper star Joe Locke’s star turn as Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, in Agatha All Along. Wiccan appears on the new Pride covers too, alongside his boyfriend Hulking, who has yet to be cast in the MCU.
But another queer cast member is on the horizon: Ruaridh Mollica, who’s playing a mysterious character named Tucker in the upcoming series Vision. Fans have heavily speculated that the character is actually Tommy Shepherd, aka Speed, Wiccan’s long-lost twin brother and another beloved queer hero. We’ll find out when the series comes to Disney+ — it’s expected sometime in 2026.
