Frank Ocean has been keeping a low profile lately, but his recent post might allude to new music on the horizon.
On Tuesday, Frank posted a photo to Instagram stories enjoying some beach time with a mysterious person. Well, super sleuths didn’t take long to deduce that he was spending a day on the shore with Spanish superstar Rosalía.
Fans of both artists are rightfully confused, delighted, and shocked seeing the pair together. It’s not like recording artists can’t hang out with each other outside of performances or music videos, but fans are convinced that there’s a collaboration afoot.
Rosalía’s latest collaboration was with Icelandic sensation Björk on the song “Oral”, while Frank hasn’t made new music as a solo artist since his 2016 Blond album. But he’s stayed busy, writing songs and producing music for artists like Drake (For All the Dogs), Nas (The Lost Tapes 2), Travis Scott (Astroworld), and N.E.R.D (No One Ever Really Dies).
However, fans are impatiently waiting for new music, especially when Frank teased a snippet to a new song on his Instagram story.
And if new music is with Rosalía, fans will not complain, especially since the two have already been in the studio together. The Catalan singer mentioned in a 2022 interview with i-D, that Frank gave her advice that ended up in her hit song “Saoko” from her Grammy Award winning album Motomami.
That advice? Well, Rosalía sang that “Frank me dice que abra el mundo como una nue’” or “Frank tells me to open the world like a nut”.
We just hope that Rosalía gives Frank some advice in return: please release new music.
