JoJo Siwa’s next song features her most unhinged lyrics yet

After dropping her controversial debut EP this summer, JoJo Siwa is back to tease her next song, and one of the song’s lyrics is raising the internet’s eyebrows.

The song, called “Iced Coffee,” seems to be playing on the stereotype of gay people’s go-to drink. In the chorus, Siwa sings that she needs her lover “like iced coffee, first thing in the morning, second in the afternoon.” But it’s the pre-chorus where Siwa delivers the line, “I like the way you’re grinding my bean.”

If you take the line at surface-level, it makes sense with song’s coffee theme. But on a metaphorical level, it’s wild to hear Siwa reference her “bean” so brazenly — and folks across the internet can’t believe their ears.

Some listeners think the lyric is “grinding my vein” with a strange pronunciation. But Siwa has reposted several TikToks referencing the “bean” version of the lyric, seeming to confirm that interpretation.

So far, we only have a snippet of “Iced Coffee,” but beyond the questionable lyric, TikTok isn’t responding positively to the track. First of all, we’ve already had one massively popular coffee-themed song this year with Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.” Is Siwa trying to ride Carpenter’s coattails?

“this is like espresso’s estranged sister,” wrote one commenter. Another called it the “decaffeinated” version.

“this song saved me,” commented a third. “i’ve been suffering from a severe depression episode, but when iced coffee came on the radio, i got out of my bed for the first time in 3 months to turn it off.”

“Iced Coffee” releases on November 22. Check out the snippet below.
