Karamo Brown Has Furious Reaction to the Beyoncé “Mute” Fail in Los Angeles

· Updated on September 5, 2023

Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour is currently in Los Angeles. The first of three dates at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood took place on Friday. A second date followed on Saturday, and a third and final date is tonight (Sept 4), which also happens to be Beyoncé’s 42nd birthday.

One of the tour highlights is when Queen Bey sings the “eerbody on mute” line during the song “Energy”. Audiences have taken to falling silent for a few seconds until the song kicks back in.

The crowds in Washington D.C. and Atlanta have excelled at rising to the challenge. Would L.A. follow suit? Well, on the evidence of Friday night … no. Some in the stadium couldn’t resist screaming before Beyoncé began singing again.

Here is the moment.

Among those to react with disappointment to the Los Angeles fail was Queer Eye and talk show host Karamo Brown. He posted a furious video to his Instagram, saying the crowd had better improve for his attendance at the concert on Saturday night.

On X (formerly Twitter), many others posted similarly hilarious reactions.

The SoFi Stadium “mute” reaction was better on Saturday night, but many feel L.A. can still do better for the third show tonight. Did we mention it’s Beyoncé’s actual birthday today?!

Anyway, as to be expected for Los Angeles, many celebrities turned out to enjoy Beyoncé. Sarah Paulson attended with Pedro Pascal, and she filmed him “f*cking dying” during Beyoncé’s rendition of “Black Parade.”

Other celebrities spotted at the L.A. shows included Kelly Rowland, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Selena Gomez, Brie Larson, Issa Rae, Sofia Vergara, Keke Palmer, Tracee Ellis Ross, Saweetie, LeBron James, and Tyler Perry.

Adele

One confirmed celebrity attending Beyoncé’s birthday bash tonight is fellow superstar Adele.

During her own Las Vegas residency show this weekend, the British singer told her audience she initially resisted Beyoncé’s request that gig-goers wear silver.

“You know, I like to get dressed up every weekend, and obviously this is her birthday show,” said Adele.

“So I was like, ‘I’m not going in silver.’ Like, I love my girl, but I ain’t wearing silver. I don’t even own silver, alright? So I’m just gonna wear like a black tracksuit/sweatsuit.”

However, she then had second thoughts and decided to commit to the theme.

“I was awake ’til like 3am the other night on Amazon buying, like, glitter ball clothes. She asked everyone to dress up, so I’m gonna look really cheap, like a disco ball.

“It’s all from Amazon, and it’s arriving over the weekend while I’m here so god knows what I’m gonna look like.”
