Kehlani (she/they) is known for making exciting R&B grooves, but their next album will send their fans straight to sleep.
On Monday, Sleep Soul, known for creating soothing R&B-inspired lullabies for babies, announced that Kehlani and Jhené Aiko would be joining forces on a joint album called Sleep Soul Vol. 4. Both Grammy-nominated artists have songs that are sonically serene and also parents to young children, so the idea for an album of lullabies seems perfect for these R&B superstar and their kids.

Kehlani is known for R&B tracks like “Distraction,” “Can I,” and “Night Like This” that take classic ’90s R&B and hip-hop and blend them with her effortless cool. Jhené’s sound is similar, leaning more into ethereal instrumental on songs like “The Worst,” “Bed Peace,” and “None of Your Concern.”
When their forces combine, you have an upcoming album that’ll sound like the sweetest dream. Jhené previously worked with Sleep Soul for volumes 2 and 3 fusing her signature sound with Sleep Soul’s soothing R&B melodies full of white, pink, and brown noise.
Perfect for restless babies and the exhausted parent. Now, Kehlani is tag teaming this new project with Jhené and while it’ll lull a baby to sleep, fans want in on the new lullabies too.
