Checking In

Blackpink plus ‘The White Lotus’ equals a golden opportunity

Looks like 1/4 of Blackpink will be checking in at The White Lotus this year.

On Tuesday, Variety announced that Lisa, member of K-pop supergroup Blackpink, would be checking into The White Lotus. Lisa, who will be billed as Lalisa Manobal, will join season three of the series that focuses on a new group of guests at an illustrious resort. And even though fans have no idea what to expect from Lisa or season three of The White Lotus, the excitement online is wild.

To say that the women Blackpink, Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo, have massive appeal is an understatement. Ever since their debut in 2016, they’ve dominated the music charts across the world and have collaborated with Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Victoria Monét. Lisa has also experience solo success with her singles “Money” and “Lalisa” helping her to become the first solo K-pop star win at the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Now, she’ll be taking her success to The White Lotus as the second member of the Blackpink crew to join an HBO series in an undisclosed capacity. Fellow Blackpink member Jennie, had a starring role on The Idol, alongside Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd, Rachel Sennott, and Troye Sivan. Now, how do we get Jisoo and Rosé on HBO next?

Well, while we figure out how to answer that question, Lisa will be on her way to Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand this month when filming starts. Lisa will join Natasha Rothwell (who was in season one), Carrie Coon, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Tayme Thapthimthong, Sarah Catherine Hook, Leslie Bibb, Parker Posey and more in this star-studded cast.

Blackpink fans, also known, as Blinks, are too excited for Lisa to make her acting debut. So much so, they’ve even created the hashtag LISAxTheWhiteLotus to commemorate the occasion.

Season three of The White Lotus will premiere next year.
