What a Joke

From Botox to OnlyFans, SNL’s George Santos skit left the internet in stitches

It’s safe to say that Republican politician George Santos is having a bit of a week year. The first openly gay politician elected to Congress has been in the tabloids since he started running for office, but not always for his politics.

Aside from lying about his heritage, religion, financial status, education, and facing 23 counts of felony, he added “misuses funds” to his resume as well. Last week, Santos introduced another scandal into his political career when a nine-month investigation from the House Ethics Committee concluded that he had been using campaign funds to pay for items from Sephora, Hermes, Botox, and *checks notes* OnlyFans.

The news spread all over the internet and it didn’t take long for Saturday Night Live to cover it on their “Weekend Update” segment, with Bowen Yang portraying the infamous politician. And what does Yang’s George Santos think about possible expulsion from Congress?

“Girl, expul me.”

While “expul” isn’t a word, “girl” is, something Yang’s Santos reminded SNL castmate Colin Jost about. But Jost had some hard-hitting questions, like what did Yang’s Santos buy from Ferragamo with his campaign funds?

Yang’s Santos replied with “this sweater, but it didn’t seem that the purchase was worth it to Jost.

“You went to Ferragamo and that’s what you picked out?

And what did the disgraced politician have to say about that?

“Ok, you’re a bitch.”

Pretty substantial responses here.

Of course Jost had to inquire about the OnlyFans purchase because Yang’s Santos is in Congress, but watching OnlyFans instead, as he pointed out. But in Yang’s Santos’ world, Congress and OnlyFans are one and the same.

“Isn’t Congress kind of like OnlyFans anyway? People paying you to do nasty things on a sad, bad livestream?”

Unfortunately, the Republican politician couldn’t explain any further due to fake calls from Martha Stewart and P!nk, Mya, Lil’ Kim, and Christina Aguilera needing him for a part two of “Lady Marmalade.” Needless to say, the real Santos has plenty of explaining to do when it comes to his spending habits.

But until that time comes, check out the full SNL skit below.
