Following his ongoing legal woes in Manhattan on Monday, Trump yesterday posted a video to Truth Social in which he encouraged his supporters to fork out $60 for a ‘God Bless USA’ Bible.

“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country. And I truly believe that we need to bring them back and have to bring them back fast,” Trump said.

“I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have. That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country.”

He added, “I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again.”

The Bibles are being sold in partnership with country musician Lee Greenwood. Besides the Bible text, the books contain the lyrics to Greenwood’s “God Bless USA” (one of the songs Trump actually has permission to blast out at his rallies), the wording of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance.

“Thou shalt not commit adultery”

Among those to react to Trump’s Bible sale was former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney. The former Wyoming lawmaker is now loathed by some in the MAGA movement for her participation in the January 6th committee.

Cheney took to X to wish Trump a “Happy Holy Week”, adding, “Instead of selling Bibles, you should probably buy one. And read it, including Exodus 20:14.”

And what’s the Exodus 20:14 say?

“Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

Ouch.

Trump has faced accusations of infidelity on multiple occasions. Next month, he faces a trial in Manhattan over hush money payments to the adult entertainer, Stormy Daniels. She alleges they had sex in 2006 when he was married to his current wife, Melania.

Trump also cheated on his first wife, Ivana, with a long-running mistress, Marla Maples (mother to his daughter, Tiffany).

Unsurprisingly, MAGA followers of Trump did not take kindly to Cheney knocking their own personal Messiah.

Despite his affairs, legal woes, and an impending criminal trial, Donald Trump somehow retains favor with many evangelical Christians. Here’s a video to remind you of his own, in-depth knowledge of the Bible.
