The Superintendent of Oklahoma took to social media yesterday to announce a new hire to the state’s Department of Education Library Media Advisory Committee.
Ryan Walters published a statement saying he’d hired Chaya Raichik [pictured above], the founder of the far-right, anti-LGBTQ+ social media account, Libs of TikTok.
In a posting on X, Walters said, “No one has done more to expose what the radical left is all about than @ChayaRaichik10 and @libsoftiktok. Her’s is a powerful voice to protect Oklahoma kids from p*rn in schools and woke indoctrination. I’m proud to have her on our team.”

His published statement said, “Chaya is on the front lines showing the world exactly what the radical left is all about — lowering standards, p*rn in schools, and pushing woke indoctrination on our kids.
“Because of her work, families across the country know just what is going on in schools around the country. Her unique perspective is invaluable as part of my plan to make Oklahoma schools safer for kids and friendly to parents.”
Raichik’s “work”, Libs of TikTok, has around 2.5 million followers on X. It tends to take videos posted by those on the left and holds them up for ridicule or attack. Many such videos come from people on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. The platform is particularly venomous towards trans individuals.
It has also attacked drag artists and supported bans for books that promote diversity and inclusion.
Bomb threats in Tulsa
Rolling Stone reports that Raichik “has no background in education and worked as a real estate agent before her rise to prominence online.”
Often, those targetted by Libs of TikTok, which include teachers, healthcare workers, and librarians, have faced online and real-life threats to their safety and livelihood.
Libs of TikTok previously posted content critical of a school librarian in Tulsa. It accused the librarian of pushing a “woke agenda”. Union Public Schools, which covered the area, said it subsequently received bomb threats for six days in a row.
Libs of TikTok has not issued any statement about Raichik’s hiring. However, the account re-shared someone else’s post praising Raichik’s appointment and telling libs to “cry harder”.
Oklahoma superintendent Walters has made a name for himself with his anti-woke, right-wing views. Last September he announced a “partnership” with PragerU. The organization produces content to counteract what it perceives as a left-wing bias in schools. This translates into videos lecturing girls on the benefits of “embracing femininity.”
Won’t somebody think of the children?
As book bans skyrocket, the publishing industry and queer authors prove formidable foes, but the battle is far from over.
