Seeing Troye Sivan in drag for the “One of Your Girls” music video changed our lives back in October of 2023 — and according to Sivan, it changed his life, too.
In the music video, Sivan seduced Ross Lynch while dressed in high femme drag, matching the song’s message of standing for one of the girls on a straight guy’s roster. The whole internet rightfully marveled over his beautiful transformation. Now, in a recent TikTok, the “Rush” singer implied that he experimented with his gender identity after seeing himself in drag.
In the TikTok, Sivan is lip-syncing to a song by fellow queer artist Corook that repeats the phrase “they/them energy” over and over. “Lowkey me for a while after filming the one of your girls vid,” Sivan wrote on the video, and the caption simply reads, “Tea.” Enough said.

Though Sivan still seems to use he/him pronouns, some commenters happily welcomed his apparent nonbinary side, showering him with gender-neutral praise. “hell yeah sibling,” one fan wrote.
“yes monarch!!” celebrated another.
“Yesss sovereign,” commented a third.

It’s not the first time Sivan has said that the “One of Your Girls” music video made him reconsider his gender presentation. In a TikTok from shortly after the video’s release, he opened up about his complicated feelings toward getting in drag.
“I’m not saying that I’m nonbinary,” Sivan said. “I’ve honestly never really questioned my gender. But something was unlocked in me on the day of the ‘One Of Your Girls’ video shoot.”
“For now, I don’t wanna look like that every day. I don’t wanna be her every day,” he continued. “But I’m also like, it’s gonna be so boring to make a music video again without the tape and the f*cking corset and all that sh*t. What am I gonna do? Like, snoozefest!”
