In Florida, some of your favorite spicy sites could be under attack

It’s officially 2025, and a lot of us in this community are feeling a fair amount of dread as we get closer to January 20th. But even before that terrifying event occurs, we’re already seeing some…interesting changes in the atmosphere.

For instance: according to one Redditor, bans of certain adult websites servicing the queer community have already gone into effect.

“Definitely didn’t notice that gaymaletube and some other p*rn sites now banned, just wild,” the poster wrote yesterday. “Still got a few, but we’ll see.”

He wasn’t the only one to notice the change. Other posters chimed in to talk about the unique threat posed by the return of Blue Laws, the religiously-inflected mandates that make it much harder to have fun in certain states.

“Blue laws could come back,” one poster wrote, “so make sure you pay attention at just not the state and national level of politics but local as well. As a millennial from Texas, d*ldo bans being a meme now since it was a certain current Senator created legislation for the ban of s*x toys based on obscenity ….it was just in 2008 where it was ruled unenforceable and unconstitutional by a federal judge… the law was never repealed.”

The poster refers to the insane moment back in 2022 when Marjorie Taylor Greene went on a rant about s*x toys being sold at CVS.

Blue laws traditionally stipulate where and when alcohol can sold, but their provenance could be extended to wider territory.

The new Puritanism doesn’t only impact queer viewership, either. Consider a P*rnHub ban that recently went into effect and how far it’s been able to spread in a short amount of time…

States like Florida and Texas have long been engaged in an anti-gay, anti-trans crusade, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw more bans of queer adult sites popping up in the future.

Thankfully, many commenters are suggesting a common workaround: using a VPN to access certain sites.

“Only the people young and smart enough to get a VPN will be able to get to their p*rn,” one user explained. “But all those old Republicans are going to be terrified by the sudden lack of available internet p*nis.”

True enough! But that’s their battle to fight. For now, we’ll be keeping a close watch on this developing situation.
