Actress Chloë Grace Moretz has referred to herself as a “gay woman” in a social media post endorsing Kamala Harris.
Moretz, 27, has previously dated men and women but has resisted attaching labels to her sexuality. She has been linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018. In February 2023, the two appeared to confirm their relationship when they shared a “Happy Valentine’s Day” photo of themselves curled up together.
On Instagram, Moretz posted a close-up photo of an ‘I Voted’ sticker. Her caption read: “I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris. There is so much on the line this election. I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor. Kamala Harris will protect that for us.
“I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman,” she continued. “We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve. SO… Are you voting early? Let’s get a plan together to get to your polling place with your friends! Go to IWillVote.com to figure out the best plan for you.”

Moretz first came to attention in the 2010 movie Kick-Ass. She starred in the 2013 remake of Carrie, Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Suspiria, and the conversion therapy drama, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, in 2018. She recently starred in the TV show, The Peripheral.
Gay brothers
Moretz has long been a queer advocate. She grew up in Georgia in a “very Christian Baptist town” and has two gay brothers. She told Gay Times in 2018 that witnessing how her brothers were treated turned her into an advocate from an early age.
“I grew up fighting on their behalf because it broke my heart to see that yes, they can stand up for themselves, but people wouldn’t listen. So I took it upon myself with their blessing to go out there and talk about it, and to tell people, ‘Hey, being gay is not a big deal at all. But be proud and be out there and raise the flag high. Be a part of the community, and be for the community.’ So it was never a question to me whether or not I was ever going to be an advocate, and what that meant to my heart and how it shaped me.”
Lady Gaga
Moretz was one of several celebrities to endorse Harris in the final days of the campaign. Lady Gaga posted a video on Instagram telling people to vote. The video had “Harris Walz 2024” written across it, and Gaga confirmed she’ll “I’ll see you guys in Pennsylvania”. It’s been confirmed Gaga will appear at a Kamala Harris rally in the state today, alongside the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Ricky Martin.
Other notable endorsements came from basketball star LeBron James and Will.I.Am.
