RuPaul’s Drag Race is no stranger to showmances, from Kori King and Lydia B. Kollins (affectionately known as “Buttking” by fans) on the currently airing Season 17 to Brooke Lynn Hytes and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo back on Season 11. But a new viral clip has introduced an unlikely pairing to the Drag Race universe: Coco Montrese and Trixie Mattel.
The crackship comes courtesy of Coco herself, who pitched it to Maddy Morphosis on the latter’s popular interview webseries Give It To Me Straight. In a new episode featuring deleted scenes from old interviews, Coco revealed her surprising crush — for apparently no reason at all.
The video gives little context to the conversation; really, it gives zero. Maddy was apparently pitching that Coco, who was eliminated first from All Stars 2, should get another chance at the crown: “That’s why we need an all-porkchop All Stars season,” she said.
That’s when Coco, seemingly unprompted, replied, “I want to sleep with Trixie so bad.”

Maddy seemed dumbfounded, asking “What?”, only for Coco to repeat herself. That’s where the video making the rounds on social media cuts off, leaving the gay internet scratching its collective head.
The full clip provides just a smidge more context, but still doesn’t reveal what inspired Coco’s thought. Maddy, at least, dug a little deeper into her logic: “Like, ‘cause of the money?” she asked next.
“Yes,” Coco replied. “What else would it be?”
When Maddy suggested that Trixie was simply Coco’s type, she replied, “Yeah, she is my type: rich.” So, she’s a gold digger — we respect the hustle.

On social media, Coco doubled down in her pursuit of Trixie, reposting the clip and adding the caption, “Shooting my shot,” then tagging Trixie in the post. In the replies, she added that she’s “not joking” (iconic Drag Race gif of herself included) and confirmed that her outburst on Give It To Me Straight was unprovoked: “Just totally random out of the clear blue, thinking out loud.”
And over on Instagram, she commented on Maddy’s post of the clip to explain herself further. “We did a live singing show together once and she sat on that stool and played the guitar and all I could think about was just giving her the business!!!!! Right then and there !!!! It was so RANDOM I KNOW!!!!”
Welp, you heard her, Trixie — now the ball’s in your court. Should the ship name be Cotrix? Trixco? Mattrese? No matter what, we’re seated to see how the saga unfolds.
