Ghost hunting is an inherently queer activity. Digging into the occult? Unearthing old drama? Helping entities come out — sorry, “cross over” — from one plane to another? All indisputably gay shenanigans.
But one gay ghost hunting team just took things to the next level. Luke Hutchie and Matthew Finlan, actors turned amateur ghost hunters for the web series Ghosting, travel to Canada’s most haunted locations with celebrity guests to see if they’re actually haunted — and in one of their latest episodes, they not only encountered a spirit, but gave it a romantic encounter from beyond the grave.
The moment was captured on camera and immortalized on TikTok, where it’s garnered more than 720,000 views and 145,000 likes. Hutchie and Finlan, joined by Riverdale actor (and RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race winner) Jordan Cooper, were exploring the historic Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario when they came across what seemed to be a gay ghost.
First, Hutchie asked the ghost if co-host Finlan could kiss them — which the ghost seemed to agree to by making their sensor go off.

“I think we have a gay ghost who has a crush on you,” Cooper chimed in.
From there, Finlan leaned in to “kiss the general area” around the sensor. When he pursed his lips, the sensor lit up once again.

The others encouraged Finlan to up the ante and have a full-on paranormal makeout session. He obliged, and the sensor went off for the duration of his kisses with the air.
Naturally, Finlan had a follow-up question: “Are you a top? Go off if you are.” To that, the sensor stayed inactive.
“Not a top, okay. Wait, so would you identify as a bottom?” Finlan asked — and this time, the sensor lit up.
Folks in the comments were immediately obsessed with Finlan’s undead love connection. “It’s ‘Love on the Spectre-um,’” one commenter quipped.
“Taking a new meaning to ‘ghosted’ hahaha,” added another.
A third lamented that the afterlife is apparently just as bleak for dating as the living world: “OMG there’s not even any dead tops 😭,” they wrote.
Ghosting has plenty more queer antics beyond that clip. Across its two seasons, guests have included Canada’s Drag Queens Priyanka and Synthia Kiss, as well as Frankie Grande and his husband Hale, along with a ton of iconic Canadian actors. The series is available to watch for free on CBC Gem and YouTube. Check out the full episode at Fort Henry below.
